Touching Lives for Christ
Touching Lives for Christ (TLC) exists to provide to our young people a unique opportunity of allowing God to use them to make a difference in the world. After a week of intensive training at our Boot Camp, they serve for three weeks on a mission field during the summer.
What we do!
Young people on TLC teams have served in over 30 countries around the world with numerous mission agencies. They engage in activities as diverse as building an addition to a church or clinic, providing medical assistance in rural villages, teaching English classes, distributing Bibles and Christian literature, and assisting in evangelistic campaigns.
How can I help?
While much of the recruiting, planning, and organization for these trips is done by the TLC staff during the year, the local congregation has always been a vital part of this ministry. They provide much of the financial support and encouragement to these young people.
As Boot Camp approaches, other opportunities for service become available to the congregation, such as:
- provide transportation to and from the airport,
- open their homes to out-of-town TLC participants and provide meals on the weekends before and after Boot Camp,
- assist in transporting the teams to and from Boot Camp, and
- assist in speaking and teaching classes during the week of Boot Camp.
TLC team members return with an enlarged view of what God is doing in the world. They learn that the abundant resources America enjoys are not to squander on themselves, but to share with others. As a result of the impact of TLC, many young people have dedicated their lives to the cause of missions.
TLC could not exist if it were not for the many, many individuals who give of their time and resources to make it a success. Jesus has made it very clear that every activity done in His name, no matter how small, will be rewarded.
